Madley Primary School

Welcome

From the Head Teacher, Mr Lee Batstone

Welcome to Madley Primary School!

We hope you enjoy ‘surfing’ through our work and finding out a little more about our wonderful school. Exciting, inspiring, developmental and child centred are a few of the terms visitors have used to describe our school...........

'The pupils themselves are outstanding ambassadors for their school. They are well mannered, thoughtful and considerate. Their behaviour is good and reflects the responsibility that they take for their own learning.' (OFSTED 2011)

Madley Primary School is set in the village of Madley, within easy reach of the city of Hereford. We enjoy a village setting and have a fantastic environment to learn in, a lovely school building and extensive and varied school grounds. The school really is an active part of the community. We are very proud of our ‘open’ approach and the friendly, family atmosphere that our school possesses. We view education as a partnership with both the parents and the wider community (that is why our PTA worked really hard to buy us 2 mini-buses to enhance the children's opportunities), the school then bought a third. Everyone rows in the same direction at Madley !

Our school has 198 amazing children and an enthusiastic and very talented team of staff who ensure that every child has the best opportunity to explore and develop their individual talents and skills. We aim to nurture and develop the whole child academically, socially and creatively, our school strives to ensure that ‘every child’ really does matter through our shared values and high expectations.

The children are actively involved in their learning through development of the school through our Eco- schools work, School Parliament and Healthy Schools initiative, we were also proud to be the 2010 and 2011 Hereford Sports Association 'Primary School of the Year'. At Madley every child has a voice and they are actively encouraged to voice their opinions and ideas in a responsible manner, regardless of ability we want every child to discover their talents, enjoy learning and develop an extensive skills set for their journey through life .

'The outstanding contribution pupils make to the school and wider community means that they have significant influence both within school and beyond.' (OFSTED 2011)

Enjoy your exploration of our website and come back and see us soon.

Best wishes
Lee Batstone
