First Aid and Administering Medications
At Madley Primary School, we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of all staff, pupils and visitors. All staff at Madley Primary School undertake first aid training to ensure that we can respond quickly and appropriately to an incident should it arise.
First aid is immediate temporary care for a pupil, member of staff or visitor who is ill or injured, with the intention of supporting the patient emotionally, preventing an injured or ill person’s condition from worsening and preserving life. This may include treating minor injuries or taking charge where an injury or illness requires further treatment by a medical professional until the patient can be taken to hospital.
Madley Primary School has one defibrillator which is situated outside the First Aid Room.
If your child requires medication during the school day, whether this is ongoing or short-term we are able to administer medicine. The medication needs to be in the original packaging with their name on the prescription. Please complete the form below and hand it in to the office along with the medication.
