Policies

Hard copies of school policies are available at the school office, free of charge.

School policies cover every aspect of school life. Below are some of our most important policies for your reference. If you want to know our policy on something that is not listed, please ask the school office.

PREVENT

Many of you may know that the Government has put into place something called the ‘Prevent’ strategy. It is designed to prevent people becoming terrorists or supporting terrorist organisations. Schools, including primary schools, are required to include this as part of their safeguarding procedures and so I am including a link to a pamphlet for parents for you to see. In practice, for us, this means challenging prejudice and racist comments, promoting British values and exploring other cultures and religions to promote diversity.

It is not about discussing extremism with children, it’s about teaching children values such as tolerance and respect, which as you know we do.   We hope this all makes sense, does not alarm anyone and lets you know what our response to this strategy is.
