Y4 mosaic is proudly attached to the outside of the school thanks to a dedicated teacher and her family who gave up their Sunday morning to erect this incredible peice of art work.
Y4 used recycled plastic to create this lasting message, measuring 8ft x 8ft, to raise awareness of plastic pollution, single use plastic and the devestating effect it is having on our oceans and sea life which inevitably makes it way through the food chain to human kind.
Check out this amazing Easter Cake that a few Y6 girls decorated this morning. It looks delicious, is packed full of chocolate and would make a fabulous Easter treat for any family! We will raffle it off tomorrow after school and we'll notify the winner straight away.
It costs £1 to put your name in the hat but you can do that as many times as you like! Tickets are available after school or all day tomorrow.
All money raised will go the Y6 Enterprise fund as they have ambitious plans for the Legacy project next term.
Well done girls, you are all STAR bakers!
As part of the Year 5 theme we have arranged for an exciting visit to the Royal Mint in Pontyclun on Friday 12th April. The Royal Mint is the world's leading export mint, making coins and medals for an average of 60 countries every year. Its first responsibility is to make and distribute United Kingdom coins as well as to supply blanks and official medals and it was opened by The Queen in 1968 in readiness for the introduction of the decimal coinage,
Trained security staff oversee the security of the 35-acre site, which operates round-the-clock for 52 weeks a year. The Royal Mint can produce 90 million coins and blanks a week - almost five billion coins a year.
We have a full day packed with lots of exiting and engaging activities. The children will have the opportunity to experience the fabulous exhibits and research coins and currency from countries around the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to support the children’s learning on this term’s topic and we are sure they’ll get a lot out of it.
We need to make an early start so ask that all children are in school by 0750hrs in readiness for a prompt 0800hr departure. We aim to return at around 1600hrs Children should wear school uniform and bring a packed lunch with at least one non fizzy drink. Please make sure to notify the music teacher if your child has music lessons that day.
Come along and join this event to celebrate the opening of the amazing new recreational ground in Madley.
