Young Voices  - celebrating the largest choir on the planet!

Young Voices was first inspired by a couple of large concerts in Wales and Ireland in the earlies 1990’s.

In 1997 the first Young Voices concerts were held in Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham and Belfast. Since then, they have won 3 Guinness World Records (breaking their own record twice!) for having the largest simultaneous sing-a-long, the last record was broken in 2005 when 293,978 participants in 1,616 locations throughout the UK, simultaneously sang ‘Lean on me’!

Madley Primary School have been involved in Young Voices for many years and we know that providing children with the opportunity to perform in an awesome arena alongside incredible artists has a massive impact. It is an amazing experience and it’s no wonder that Young Voices is over-subscribed year after year.

One of the highlights of the whole process is to see the pride that the children have in their own performance, and this is further amplified when their parents are able to share the experience as part of the audience.

Well done to everyone who took part. To the children for their commitment to rehearsing both at home and at school and to the adults who gave up their time to make this fantastic event happen for our children to enjoy. The children’s hard work paid dividends as they sang with joyous enthusiasm. Their positive behaviour throughout the lead up to the event and the whole day was exceptional, we are extremely proud of each and every one.
