Madley is a Values-based school.
Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy children who develop into happy, confident adults.
Madley Primary School is one of only 26 organisations World wide to be awarded the Enhanced Values Award after rigorous assessment over two days.
The school has high expectations and supports every child to be the very best they can be in their learning and behaviour. We provide a wide and varied curriculum that enables every child to grow, develop and exceed their potential in a safe, nurturing, positive environment, before the transition to secondary school.
The school is an active member of the local community and children are proud ambassadors for the school and its values when attending curriculum visits, fixtures and events. Teaching and support staff are committed to professional development and to the school’s values and child-centred ethos. Outdoor learning and environmental citizenship, sport and physical activity, and the creative arts are embedded in school life and we are an accredited Forest School.
We encourage parents and families to play a full part in school life and to role model positive values at home.
Values are the principles that underpin our school life. Adults and children demonstrate these values in the way they treat each other with unconditional positive regard.
Sessions are led by school adults to develop stronger engagement and understanding through reflective practice e.g., using different school environments – Legacy Lounge and Garden, Tipi and Forest School sites.
All school staff and older children have the opportunity to reflect on their personal journey, development, learning and behaviour through the use of Legacy Books and Reflection Books.
New children and staff are supported through caring and compassionate mentorship, as they begin and continue on their Madley journey, to deliver training and embed the ethos of our school.
Our curriculum is focused on developing both children and adults ‘to be the best they can be’ by celebrating their strengths and giving opportunities to further knowledge through professional development (for staff), curriculum visits and input from external professionals. For example, the school has an ongoing supportive relationship with an educational psychologist who meets with both children and adults as needs.
