Sport

Here at Madley Primary School, we are very proud of our children. We like to give them opportunities to be ambassadors for the school and without exception, when we are away from school on visits the comments we receive from people we meet are all extremely positive!

We are delighted to take new opportunities to work with other schools and agencies to share with them the Madley ethos of ‘being the best we can be’. In sporting events and competitions, the children wear their kit with immense pride; they treat opponents with respect and uphold the school values whether they win, draw or lose.

At a recent Herefordshire sports event, we received a prestigious sports award and two children took to the stage to speak about sport at Madley. Their eloquence, maturity and passion was commented upon by many at the event but afterwards we received a lovely email from Peter Knight, the PE & School Sport Development Manager. We thought we would share his words, “Please pass on my thanks to the young people who presented so well at today’s briefing for Headteacher's.

They delivered their ‘speeches’ with clarity and confidence – they were a credit to their school, parents and of course, themselves.

I am sure that the process that they went through to get the opportunity was valuable in itself and has helped them to understand the benefits of ‘taking a chance’.

I look forward to seeing the school at the upcoming School Games Mark presentation.

Once again, many thanks to you for giving the young people the opportunity!”

Well said, we agree with every word!
